	Sunrise Catalina (BA134) 3/4 Bass Availability Our new Catalina is a breakthrough in design and craftsmanship. Our favorite craftsmen in the Far East have fashioned this instrument according to our painstakingly developed drawings. The body is longer for additional volume, but rib depth and bout widths are not excessive; the longer, thinner body with higher, rounder shoulders is reminiscent of older Italian basses. However, playing sting length and neck dimensions have been adjusted for contemporary comfort, orchestra or jazz. And we are so happy with the sound! Validating our design concept, the Catalina is powerful in all registers with a balance of tone normally not available at this price. 	Sunrise Solana (BA109) 3/4 Solid Wood Bass Availability At last. The Lemur Music Sunrise Solana Bass is the laminated bass we’ve always wanted to offer. The reason is our new Advanced Sound Design (ASD). When we discovered a double bass maker who laminated his own tops and backs, we knew that our dreams were about to become reality. Normally, a good laminated bass has a full sound, but is weak in the midrange and treble – the sound becomes lifeless in thumb positions. By carefully selecting the veneers and specifying the details of construction, Lemur Music has been able to drastically improve the performance of the laminated bass. ASD maintains the strength in the low notes while boosting midrange and treble output. Sustain is improved too. The Lemur Music Sunrise Solana Bass is an excellent bass for high schools, churches, and beginning students of all ages. With our complete setup, you will experience comfortable playability, balanced sound, and beauty that can’t be beat. 	Sunrise San Clemente (BA123) 1/2 Solid Wood Bass Availability Every 1/2 size bass we have tried in the past was laminated and sounded so small. We feel that younger bassists and smaller musicians deserve a full sound too. After a four-year search, we located the Sunrise San Clemente, a half-size gamba shaped bass with a laminated wood top and back, and a truly remarkable sound. Nicely flamed back and sides, dark color, ebony fingerboard processed in Germany, and a padded cover, make this instrument attractive as well as functional. 	Swingmaster Deluxe (BASTOCK104) 3/4 Bass The Swingmaster Deluxe is a top quality American made laminated bass that can't be found anywhere but Lemur Music. This is a really good laminated bass with a loud, full boom in the sound. Looks and sounds great for Bluegrass, Rockabilly, and music of almost any kind. Engelhardt makes this bass for us with specially selected American curly maple and spruce veneers, a solid ebony fingerboard, German made tuning machines, blonde finish, and a slender neck that just can't be had on other basses. After the Lemur setup is done, the Swingmaster Deluxe also gets a German made endpin that doesn't rattle, and European bridge and soundpost. You won't find these features anywhere else. 	Sunrise Laguna (BA124) 3/4 Solid Wood Bass Availability This is our most popular instrument. The back, sides, and neck are made from beautifully flamed Big Leaf maple, the top is select spruce, and the fingerboard as well as other trim is made from ebony processed in Germany. German-made tuning machines, violin corners, a rich, dark varnish, and a padded cover complete the package for a professional looking instrument that is appropriate for high school and college students as well as working musicians needing a good bass at a great price. The sound is something to brag about too, with more sound in the low register than good laminated basses, and a more sophisticated midrange sound, characteristic of a well-graduated spruce top. 	Sunrise Huntington (BA128G) 5/8 Quenoil Design Bass The Sunrise Huntington bass is a 5/8 size instrument that boasts a full sound, yet has a smaller upper bout and a shorter string length. This bass is a much needed offering for bassists of smaller stature who have progressed beyond their student instrument, for example young women going to college. It is also great for an aspiring solo performer, or a jazz professional needing maximum access to the upper register. The materials are outstanding including beautifully flamed solid maple back, sides, and neck, as well as boldly grained spruce for the top. 	Sunrise Del Mar (BA131) 3/4 Violin Cornered Bass Availability Occasionally, a rare piece of wood becomes available with stunning beauty and characteristics perfect for tone production. When such wood is identified, our craftsmen spare no effort to transform these materials into the best instrument that can be made. Characteristically with violin corners and a 3/4 size, the Del Mar is loud and deep sounding with balanced tone appropriate for many uses. 	Sunrise San Pedro (BA129) 1/2 Size Carved Bass Availability The San Pedro is the newest addition to our Sunrise Series. Half-size basses are usually for students who will soon outgrow them. But, as we have discovered, every kind of person enjoys playing the bass, even adults near 5 feet tall. A very musical woman came into our shop for a bass who had been discouraged by the cumbersome dimensions of ¾ instruments and the student look and sound of most anything smaller. She had her eye on the 5/8 Huntington bass, but found the San Pedro to be very competitive sound-wise, and a better fit for her. 	Sunrise Reserve 3/4 Bass - Exceptional Quality Sold! No longer available. The Sunrise Reserve is another exceptional addition to our Sunrise Series. The family which makes some of our Sunrise basses had saved two basses for their personal collection to enter into violin making competitions. In view of our friendly relationship, Lemur Music was offered these instruments, and we thought they were a bargain! These are the most beautiful and best sounding instruments they have produced, made from extremely rare woods. Once they are gone, we cannot re-order them!
